The Plein Air League is a vibrant community of artists located in Virginia Beach managed by The Artists Gallery in Virginia Beach Art Center. The PAL is particularly known for its paint out schedule, where artists gather to create their works outdoors, capturing the essence of the environment in their art. These events are scheduled throughout the year, allowing artists to capture the changing seasons and landscapes. The artists in the league are always happy to engage with the public and talk about their process and art. This open interaction fosters a dynamic and inspiring environment where art is born and appreciated. The chairperson of the Pein Air League is Jeanie Hearst. Our special July plein air day will be in the air-conditioned comfort of The Virginia Beach Art Center. We are privileged to have Ray Hershberger, much-loved and respected local artist and teacher, with us. He will be sharing his expertise both doing art en plein air and teaching students. He will be giving us tips he has learned over the years. Questions and answers and discussion will follow Ray’s presentation.
We will enjoy lunch together after the presentation. Please bring a sandwich to share; as in the past, we will place them on a large tray, and participants will have a variety to choose from. Beverages and dessert will be supplied.
We are asking for a $10 donation for this special event to cover expenses.
Address: Virginia Beach Art Center 532 Virginia Beach Blvd.
