En-caus-tic - 1. painted with wax colors fixed with heat. 2. a work of art produced by an encaustic process.
Mon-o-type - 1. a one of a kind print. 2. a print made without a repeatable matrix.
Come and explore the seductive media of Hot Wax. The Encaustic Monotype is an exciting, contemporary process with a painterly approach to printmaking. This process is experimental, freeing, and can be used successfully with a wide range of imagery and styles. Encaustic Mixed Media is fun and experimental. Encaustic paint is beautiful and durable. Made from beeswax, pigment and damar resin it offers endless possibilities for astonishing surface qualities. The layering process offers beautiful depth and transparency. The creative potential with this media are endless.
